Marine Minerals are found naturally in the Great Salt Lake. Being the largest lake in the United States west of the Mississippi River and the fourth largest terminal lake in the world, the Great Salt Lake is an extremely salty body of water. There is an estimated 5 billion tons of dissolved-mineral content in the lake and about 4.5 billion tons of that being salt alone.
